North Texas Mega Mansion Champ d'Or Still Up for Grabs

North Texas' biggest home is still for sale.The 48,000-square-foot Champ d'Or estate near Denton cost more than $50 million to build.The estate is patterned after a 17th century French chateau and has six bedrooms and 14 bathrooms.There's also a spa and indoor lap pool, a 2-story closet, private hair salon, and much more.Built in 2002, the grand palace on the prairie is owned by Dallas businessman Zaf Tabani who acquired the property in 2012.Tabani put the home up for auction this summer and it was reportedly sold.But Tabani said the deal fell through and he's still interested in selling."The guy that bid the money couldn't close," he said. "It's not under contract."It is always for sale and anyone interested can contact me."Concierge Auctions which held the bid back in June counts the deal on its website as still pending.But Tabani said he doesn't expect the winning bidder to follow through on the auction buy.Concierge Auctions said the huge house has potential as an executive retreat, medical or spa facility, retirement center, bed and breakfast and more.The original owners and builders sold the mansion because it was just too big for their needs.  Continue reading...
