No One Hurt as 18-wheeler Dumps Load of Excavators Onto I-820 in Fort Worth

No one was injured when an 18-wheeler carrying two excavators used in heavy construction struck an overpass and sent its cargo into the road Monday night in Fort Worth, police said.Police said the two excavators -- one large and one smaller -- broke free of their straps around 8:30 p.m. in the 2100 block of eastbound Interstate 820 at Old Decatur Road in northwest Fort Worth.The heavy equipment fell into the highway and severely damaged the road, carving deep grooves across several lanes, police said.Eastbound lanes were closed for several hours but have since reopened.  Continue reading...
