New Judge Chosen to Preside Over Attorney General Ken Paxton's Criminal Case

AUSTIN — Judge Robert Johnson, a newly-elected Democrat who beat out Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick's son for his seat, was chosen Tuesday to preside over Attorney General Ken Paxton's ongoing criminal cases.Johnson was picked randomly from Harris County's 22 criminal district court judges. He replaces Tarrant County Judge George Gallagher, who was booted after Paxton argued he could not continue to preside once the case moved from Collin to Harris County.  Continue reading...
