New Hotel Project on the Way Near Arlington's AT&T Stadium

A Missouri-based hotel firm has purchased land in Arlington for its third new North Texas project.Drury Development bought the more than 9-acre property along Interstate 30 near the Lincoln Square shopping center.The company plans to build a 268-room full-service hotel on the site, officials with Dallas-based real estate firm Transwestern who brokered the sale say.The planned hotel is near the Dallas Cowboy's AT&T Stadium and the Texas Rangers new Globe Life Field."Drury was drawn to the development opportunity in North Arlington due to the area's tremendous growth, many amenities and extensive entertainment options that regularly draw hotel guests from more than 100 miles away," Transwestern's Larry Jordan said in a statement. "The Drury Plaza Hotel will be one of the first full-service hotels constructed in North Arlington's entertainment district since the Arlington Convention Center Hotel was built on Ballpark Way nearly 20 years ago."Jordon brokered the sale of the site with Transwestern's Steve Williamson.Drury Hotels has been in business for more than 40 years and operates 140 hotels in 21 states.The company just opened a nine-story 184-room hotel in Frisco.And Drury has announced plans for a high-rise hotel adjacent to the CityLine development and State Farm Insurance's campus in Richardson.  Continue reading...
