NBC5 Forecast: Windy and Warm Today

A warm and windy day is on tap today. High temperatures will be in the 80s with south winds gusting over 40 mph. The strong winds have prompted a Wind Advisory from 10 a.m to 8 p.m.The chance for storms will return Friday. There could be a brief round in the morning, and another round is possible later in the day. The threat for severe weather will depend on where the dryline (separation between the humid air to the east and dry air to the west) sets up. We will either have a shot at a few strong to severe storms, or it's going to be a windy and hot afternoon. Right now, it appears the best chance for storms will be east of DFW Friday afternoon.
