A heat advisory is in effect for much of North Texas until 7 pm Wednesday. The heat index will range from 105 to 108 degrees during the hottest part of the next several afternoons.With little change expected in the position of the jet stream, this pattern will likely last into the weekend. Stay hydrated and take frequent breaks if you must be out in the heat for an extended period of time. Make sure you provide shade and fresh water for your pets.
