Muslim Woman Told ‘go Back to Your Country' by Stranger in Obscene Rant Outside Houston Market

A Houston woman said she was accosted at a supermarket by a stranger who told her to "go back to your county" in an obscenity-laden tirade captured on video.The incident took place Sunday at a Kroger store, where Mai Mohamed said a fellow customer confronted her as she took near water jugs outside, the Houston Chronicle reported.Mohamed, an Egyptian native who moved to Houston two years ago after obtaining her green card, told the newspaper that she went to her car to fetch her phone. When she returned to the site, she recorded video as she was confronted once again by the unidentified woman."This lowlife, she needs to go back to her (expletive) country," the woman can be heard saying as she heads to the parking lot.An apparent store employee then tells Mohamed to turn her camera off.Another customer, Seydou Oued, who lives near the market, told the newspaper that he witnessed the altercation.Mohamed said she didn't know what prompted the abuse."I felt hate when she looked at me," she said, adding that she later returned to the store to ask about filing a complaint. "I don't know why."She is exploring possible legal options."Right now, we're just trying to look at all the facts," attorney Arsalan Safiullah, of the Houston chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, told The New York Post.Houston police were not called to the scene, the Post said.  Continue reading...
