Dallas ISD is going back into Superintendent Michael Hinojosa's old cabinet to find its new Chief Financial Officer.Larry Throm, who previously worked as CFO in Hinojosa's first stint in Dallas, will replace Jim Terry, who left the district in June.Hinojosa admitted he coaxed his old colleague out of retirement to fill the role; Throm left DISD in 2010 to work for Austin-based school finance consultants Moak Casey, and Associates, had been retired for the past six months. He’ll start back on the job at the beginning of August.“The opportunity came up, and I thought ‘Yeah, I’ll do that,’” Throm said. “I’ve seen some of the things going on up there. It’s a large operation, and large operations are complex. And so it’s not like anybody can walk in there and really do a good job without the experience managing large operations and a large number of people.
