Residents in Irving escaped a 4-alarm fire that destroyed their apartment building overnight. Firefighters found smoke and heavy flames coming from the structure when they responded to the 2600 West Walnut Hill Lane, near Story Road, about 11:45 p.m. Thursday. Residents had already made it outside and there were no reports of injuries. Crews brought the blaze under control by 12:30 a.m. Friday.
