How to Make the Dallas Arboretum's Spring Flower Festival Happen? Plant Half a Million Bulbs Now

Members of The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden's horticultural staff -- along with numerous additional seasonal gardeners -- are in the midst of planting more than 500,000 spring-blooming bulbs throughout the 66-acre garden. Next spring, their hard work will result in the spectacular floral display known as Dallas Blooms, which runs from February 24 through April 8, 2018.Here is a behind-the-scenes look at a day in the life of the process, as about 30,000 of those bulbs were being planted on a cool morning with temperatures in the 40s.  Continue reading...
