Handcuffed Teen at Large After Eluding Deputy in Ellis County

Ellis County deputies are searching for a teenage fugitive who escaped custody this week in Waxahachie.Austin Nickolaus Mirza, 18, was handcuffed and being escorted to a squad car Wednesday at the adult probation officer when he ran away from a deputy and jumped into a waiting car.The driver fled, and Mirza remains at large. Descriptions of the vehicle and driver were not released.Mirza was in custody on a probation violation after his November arrest for drug possession at a Motel 6 in Irving. Besides several baggies of marijuana, police found meth, a stun gun and a .22-caliber pistol in the room.Anyone who knows Mirza's whereabouts can call authorities at 972-825-4928.  Continue reading...
