Gov. Greg Abbott Tuesday appointed civil attorney Jason Boatright to the 5th Court of Appeals in Dallas. He replaces former justice David Lewis, who resigned in October before the state could remove him from office.Lewis battled alcoholism, depression and had anger issues, according to the Texas Commission on Judicial Conduct.His colleagues on the court told the commission that Lewis was unfit to remain a justice and said he was "erratic, hostile and threatening," according to records filed by the commission.
