Fort Worth Man and Girlfriend Strangled Woman and Left Her Burned Body Along East Texas Road, Authorities Say

A Fort Worth man and his girlfriend have been charged with murder in the strangulation death of a woman whose burned body was found in a wooded area along a rural road in East Texas earlier this month.Carlton Lamar Grant, 37, of Fort Worth and Lindsey Jo McFadden, 29, of Longview were being held without bail Tuesday in the Upshur County jail; each faces one count of capital murder.The body of 24-year-old Rachel Rhoads, a Longview resident, was discovered by people riding off-road vehicles near FM726 the afternoon of April 1, a day after she had been reported missing.
