Former Skyline High Football Player Charged With Rape, Sexual Battery

A former Skyline High football player was arrested Tuesday on charges of rape and sexual battery .William Barrow, 22, was accused in March of raping a student at the University of Tulsa, where Barrow played football .The woman, who was classmates with Barrow, told police he sexually assaulted her when she visited his apartment.He "became aggressive rather quickly" after they began kissing, according to police records. She said that she tried to leave when he began to grope her, but he grabbed her neck, shoved her onto the bed and "strangled her until her nose bled," according to a police report.She said she'd told him no about six times. When University of Tulsa campus security officers interviewed him days after the incident, they said he agreed that he might have gone further than the woman wanted and that she might have indicated she was uncomfortable.However, when Tulsa police questioned Barrow, they said he denied assaulting the woman.As a senior defensive back at Skyline, Barrow was credited with helping to lead his team to a 13-1 record and to the fourth round of the state playoffs. After graduating from Skyline in 2013, he played in 44 games at Tulsa, according to the university. He faces one count of rape by instrumentation and one count of sexual battery. He is being held in the Dallas County Jail while he is awaiting transfer to Tulsa. His bail has been set at $22,500.   Continue reading...
