Felon Charged With Capital Murder After Fatal Robbery at Red Bird Apartment Complex

Dallas police have arrested a man in connection with the slaying of a robbery victim in a Red Bird apartment complex's parking lot last month.Tory Okoyie Robinson, 28, faces a charge of capital murder. He was booked into the Dallas County jail early Wednesday, and his bail had not yet been set.A relative of the victim, 32-year-old Jose Refugio Gonzales, told police that two men approached them June 25 in the parking lot of Cliff Creek Apartments near U.S. Highway 67 and Interstate 20 and demanded property at gunpoint before opening fire and fleeing.Gonzalez was pronounced dead at the scene when police arrived shortly before midnight.Police did not say whether they have identified a second suspect.Anyone with information about the shooting may contact Detective Derick Chaney at 214-671-3650 or derick.chaney@dallascityhall.com.Robinson also faces an unrelated charge of domestic-violence assault, as well as a parole violation.
