With a special session of the Texas legislature set to start Tuesday, here's what you need to know.What's the difference between regular and special legislative sessions?The Texas Legislature meets in regular session every odd-numbered year for 140 days, as per the state Constitution. A special session is an extra period of lawmaking, called at the discretion of the governor. Legislative machinations work similarly to the regular session, but the pace is much faster.
