Elderly Man Caught Shoving Wife's Body Into His Car

A 72-year-old Arlington man has been charged with murder after he admitted to suffocating his wife at a home in Grandbury, according to police.Police responded to the home Thursday morning around 11 a.m. after someone reported seeing a man dragging a woman's body and trying to load it into a car, reports the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. When officers arrived, Joseph Scala told them he had suffocated his wife 72-year-old Betty Scala, said police spokesman Sgt. Chris Brichetto. She was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead at 11:56 a.m.Police told the Star-Telegram that he didn't explain what led up to him suffocating her or why he did it.Joseph Scala did say that he and his wife lived in Arlington, but that she was staying with a friend in Granbury at the time.He is being held in the Hood County Jail.   Continue reading...
