DWI Suspect Faces Manslaughter Charge After Deadly Crash on Denton Highway

A drunken driving suspect was arrested early Thursday after a deadly crash on a Denton highway.Austin Shadle, 29, of Argyle faces a charge of intoxication manslaughter, police said. He was taken to a hospital to recover from injuries he suffered in the crash.The driver of a Mazda 3 was headed north on U.S. Highway 377 about 1:15 a.m. when Shadle lost control of his Nissan Titan, police said.His southbound pickup slid into a ditch beside the road and then veered into oncoming traffic, hitting the Mazda on its driver's side.The Mazda's driver, who was not identified, was rushed to Medical City of Denton and later died.
