Duncanville Officers Shoot Man Who Refused to Show His Hands, Police Say

Duncanville police on Tuesday shot a man Tuesday afternoon as he aggressively rummaged in a bag and refused to show his hands. The man is in stable condition, officials said. His name was not released.Officers confronted the man about 1:15 p.m. while investigating a suspicious person call in the 600 block of North Clark Road, said Raul Reyna, a spokesman for the Dallas County Sheriff's Department.Police tried to approach the man, who would not comply with their commands, according to the release. He told officers there were warrants out for his arrest and that he would not go to jail.Reyna said the man would not put his hands up and began reaching for something in a bag, making "aggressive movements," according to the release.Police shot the man and administered first aid before he was taken to Methodist Dallas Medical Center. His injuries were not life-threatening, Reyna said.The Dallas County sheriff's office is investigating the shooting.  Continue reading...
