Dog About Town: Walking, a Hockey Game and More Things to Do

Is running or walking more one of your resolutions this year? The Run for Rover, at 9 a.m. Saturday, can help get you on track. Things will start at Carrollton's new McInnish Dog Park and continue through the sports complex for a full 5K. A shorter route will be available for smaller or older dogs, or those still working off their holiday weight. There will be awards, including for the overall dog and top three dog finishers. 2241 Sandy Lake Road. $15 for humans, $5 for dogs; $5 more the day of the event (registration starts at 7:45). The festivities are from noon to 4 p.m. next to the Grove, a green space behind Taco Diner. Coming up: Humane Society of North Texas on Feb. 25 and Cody's Friends Rescue on Feb. 26.
