DART Unveils Steep Fare Hike, But GoPassTap Should Make Things Easier

Dallas Area Rapid Transit is planning to raise bus and rail fares by about 17.5 percent starting next fall, but agency officials hope new technology and new pass options might offset some of the costs for hardest hit riders.In a series of public meetings on a proposed fare structure starting Thursday in Addison at the Addison Town Hall at 6:30 p.m. and in Rowlett at the Rowlett City Hall at 6:30 p.m., DART will unveil a new payment card system that will be on all buses and at train stations, new pay-as-you go options and an improved mobile app for riders.  Continue reading...
