Dallas’ Latino Center for Leadership Development Shifts Focus to Fostering Corporate Skills

The Latino Center for Leadership Development is discontinuing its political leadership training program, which counts two state representatives among its members.Instead, the center is preparing to focus on developing corporate leaders.The changes were announced during the 2019 Adelante Address on Saturday at Dallas’ Latino Cultural Center.The new program will use some of the teaching techniques of the political leadership academy, the leadership center’s founder, Jorge Baldor, said.He launched that program with Dallas ISD trustee Miguel Solis, who is the center’s president, and its former executive director, Rebecca Acuña.Baldor said that though there is always a need to develop political leaders, “the urgency of it is not as strong as it was five years ago.”“What came together with Miguel Solis -- with his background and our unique experience with national and international leaders -- was kind of a unique situation put together in an academy that under different leadership would not have the same results,” he said.  Continue reading...
