Dallas Trustee to Resign From School Board Amid Concerns of His Eligibility

Trustee Jaime Resendez said he is resigning from the Dallas school board effective Friday, the same day other trustees will discuss how to replace him.Concerns began circulating in recent weeks that Resendez moved into a house just a few blocks outside of the District 4 area he was elected to represent, which includes Pleasant Grove. Resendez issued a statement saying that though he could legally continue to serve, he would be submitting his resignation."As soon as I learned of the residency issue, I contacted DISD's attorneys for clarification and guidance," he wrote in a statement.
