The soufflé — an essential French dish — is an individual masterpiece that rises to perfection. It is made with egg yolks and beaten egg whites, flavored with a variety of ingredients, and served as a savory main dish or sweetened for dessert.There is something special and mysterious about eating a soufflé. Most people are not sure how they are made, how long they actually take to make, and the amount of effort each individual dish requires. But once you take that first fluffy bite, you are hooked.As a culinary student at a French cooking school, making soufflés was always one of my favorites, but also the most frustrating. It was like being in science class, tinkering with ingredients, temperature, time. How much do you need to whip the egg whites? What exact temperature do the ovens need to be?
