Dallas Officials Estimate the City Lost More Than 600 Trees in Storm

Dallas officials estimate the city lost more than 600 trees in its public parks as a result of a powerful storm nearly two weeks ago.And they say it could take three to four years before the city can finish playing catch-up. Willis Winters, director of the Park and Recreation Department, said the damage to parks is the worst anyone in the department can remember. The cost to replace the trees will be $1.25 million, he said.The high winds and heavy rainfall on June 9 hit White Rock Lake the hardest, officials said.
