Dallas Mayoral Candidate Eric Johnson Gets Backing From Former Mayor Ron Kirk

Dallas’ first elected black mayor, Ron Kirk, is throwing his support behind State Rep. Eric Johnson in his bid to become the city’s next black mayor.Johnson said Kirk — Dallas’ mayor from 1995 to 2001 and the former U.S. Trade Representative in the Barack Obama administration — officially endorsed him on Monday, two days after the Democratic state representative finished at the top of a nine-candidate scramble to replace Mayor Mike Rawlings.  Continue reading...
