Dallas Mavs' Owner Mark Cuban: Texas' Politics May Scare Off Amazon

Tech billionaire and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban said Dallas' bid for Amazon's second headquarters would be a "slam dunk," if it weren't for Texas' political reputation.Cuban said the Seattle-based e-commerce giant may be repelled by Texas politicians' conservative stances. Amazon joined hundreds of businesses and business leaders in publicly opposing a bill that would have banned transgender people from using the bathroom that matched their gender identity. The bill died during special session."Every city has got its own set of challenges," Cuban said. "Our biggest challenge is going to be they're concerned things like the bathroom bill are going to pop up again."Cuban spoke about the race for Amazon's HQ2 Monday at a press conference, after delivering a keynote at the annual conference for ASIS International, an industry group for security professionals.
