County Official Stands Behind Claim That Russian Hackers Targeted Dallas Elections

Did Russian hackers really target Dallas County before November's election? It's unclear. The county's elections administrator, Toni Pippins-Poole, says yes. But the county's IT director says he has seen no evidence of such attempts. The discord has caused a stir in local and national media, after WFAA-TV reported last month that the hack attempts "never happened," based on emails from the IT director, Stanley Victrum. "County IT is not privy to any information regarding Russian hackers attempting to hack into the systems or web sites which Dallas County controlled and used for the Dallas County November 2016 General Elections," Victrum wrote to Pippins-Poole in June.   Continue reading...
