Collin County Passport Offices Suddenly Closed

Collin County has temporarily shut down its passport offices, which unexpectedly began turning away customers on Monday.A note posted on the district clerk's website on Tuesday states: "Effective April 24, 2017, the District Clerk's Office will temporarily refrain from processing passport applications at both the McKinney and Plano locations."It's unclear when the situation might be resolved. Calls to the clerk's office and the U.S. State Department were not immediately returned.One woman who tried to get a passport for her daughter on Monday was told there was some sort of disagreement between the two agencies.In June 2015, Tarrant County halted its passport services after the State Department notified the county of an investigation over undisclosed issues.
