Cold Hinders Efforts to Put Out Fire in Vacant Building in South Dallas

No cause has been assessed in an early morning fire that broke out Tuesday in a vacant building in South Dallas, Dallas Fire rescue officials reported.The fire started around 2:30 a.m. in a building that appeared to be under construction in the 3800 block of Elsie Faye Heggins Street.The cold weather created problems for firefighters, as the water used to douse the flames created ice on the road and resulted in extra crews being called in, KTVT-TV (Channel 11) reported.The property was being converted into apartments, KTVT reported.  Continue reading...
