Body of Former Dallas Resident, Feared Dead in Harvey, Found at Houston Hotel She Worked at

The body of a Houston woman missing since Aug. 27 was found Thursday at the hotel she worked at.Jill Renick, 48, had stayed at the Omni Houston Hotel the night before her disappearance so she would be ready to help guests as Hurricane Harvey approached the city.Early the next morning, she called the front desk and 911 to say that she was trapped by rising water in the hotel, the Houston Chronicle reported. Hotel guests reported hearing her scream for help.Renick, the hotel's spa manager, wasn't seen alive or heard from again. Hotel workers later found her pit bull, Sweet Pea, alive in her hotel room.Omni Hotels spokeswoman Kristen Cadenhead said that a body was found Thursday in the ceiling above the hotel's lower level.Renick's sister, Pam Eslinger, said that body was that of Jill Renick."It is with heavy hearts that the search for my sister, Jill Renick, has concluded with the confirmation of her death," Eslinger, of Frisco, said in the statement. "We are heartbroken. To know Jill is to have loved her. She could light up a room just by walking in and adored life.
