Bitter, Weeks-long Fight in McKinney Over Forcible Annexation Ends With Victory for Landowners

MCKINNEY — A bitter weeks-long battle to forcibly annex thousands of acres where people live just outside the city limits is finally over after the City Council voted unanimously to drop its annexation push. Affected landowners — whose property is saved for now — responded to the vote with gasps, applause, hooting and hollering.
