Days after a 9-year-old girl was shot and killed down the road, a Dallas barbershop hosted a peace summit of sorts Saturday between police and the community.The forum was quickly organized at Ford Barber Shop after the death of Brandoniya Bennett, who police say was slain over an Instagram feud between two rappers."Because of the violence in the community we decided to meet them where they are," Sgt. Leroy Quigg said. "And the best place for that in the African-American community is barbershops."Shop owner Will Ford said reaching out to neighborhood kids early is crucial to keeping them on the right path."We want to talk to young kids, like him," Ford said while cutting a 4-year-old's hair, "about the recent killings and staying in school."
