Arlington Motorcycle Cop Sent to Hospital After Intoxicated Driver Veers Off-road and Crashes, Police Say

An Arlington motorcycle officer was sent to the hospital Wednesday morning after police say an intoxicated driver veered off-road and crashed into the officer's bike.Police said the officer was conducting a traffic stop on westbound Interstate 30 near Fielder Road when an SUV drifted onto the shoulder and hit the officer's motorcycle. The officer was standing nearby when the crash happened. The driver, who police have not identified, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated. That person was also hospitalized with injuries that were not expected to be life-threatening, police said.
