Two people died and many others were injured in an East Texas crash, which involved a car, an 18-wheeler and a school bus carrying a track team late Thursday night. The crash occurred as the Mount Pleasant ISD track teams were returning to Mt. Pleasant after a meet about 50 miles northwest in the town of Paris. An 18-wheeler was traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 271, about two miles south of Talco, when it veered into oncoming traffic, Mount Pleasant ISD Superintendent Judd Marshall told KLTV. The driver of the Mount Pleasant ISD school that was bus carrying the boys track team swerved to avoid a head-on crash and the 18-wheeler slammed into a car driving behind the bus, Marshall said.The driver of the 18-wheeler and the car reportedly died.
