Ron Washington Won't Be Hugging Jackie Moore in 2014

You don't make the playoffs and people start losing their jobs. The Texas Rangers said Wednesday that the contracts for bench coach Jackie Moore and first base coach Dave Anderson are not being renewed.

The parting of ways will end what has become a familiar sight after a Rangers win -- the dugout hug shared between manager Ron Washington and Moore.

Moore, a 74-year-old native of Houston, has served as the bench coach since 2009; Anderson as third base coach from 2009-12 before moving to first base this year.

The Rangers said the remainder of Wash's coaching staff, bullpen coach Andy Hawkins, pitching coach Mike Maddux, hitting coach Dave Magadan, and third base coach Gary Pettis are expected to return for 2014.

The team has not said who will replace Anderson and Moore and it's anyone's guess who'll now get that post-win hug.
