Well, it appears Mike Napoli won't be back with the Texas Rangers.

The veteran clubhouse leader, who provided a nice spark to a lumbering offense when he was acquired in August from the right side, was one of three players the Rangers have who are basically locked in at either first base or designated hitter in Napoli, Mitch Moreland and Prince Fielder.

Looks like Napoli is the odd man out.

Napoli reportedly agreed to a one-year deal with Cleveland on Wednesday worth a guaranteed $7 million with a possibility of going up to $10 million with incentives. The deal is pending a physical, which given Napoli's history certainly isn't a given, considering a deal with Boston after the 2012 season was revoked because of a failed physical.

It's a bummer to not have Napoli back because he always seems to play his best here in Arlington, but it also seemingly clears the way for Moreland to be the guy coming off a career season.
