Tony Romo: Holmgren Rumors Are “Just Noise”

A weekend report had Mike Holmgren being interested in the Cowboys job, should Jason Garrett be fired

Jerry Jones said Wednesday that he doesn’t want to so much as think about the reports that have Mike Holmgren interested in the head coaching job in Dallas should Jason Garrett be fired, because, well, he’s really happy with the job Garrett is doing. We found out just a day or so later that quarterback Tony Romo is in the same camp as his owner.

“There’s a lot of noise that goes on outside the locker room and, honestly, as players and coaches in here, we really don’t listen to it because it just doesn’t matter,” Romo said Wednesday, per the Dallas Morning News. “All we know how to do is go to work and get ready to play our best game against Cleveland this week.

“All the other stuff is just noise.”

Of course, Romo is right. Aside from Jones’ constant votes of confidence in Garrett, Holmgren himself said this week that the reports, which stated that he had “serious interest” in coming to Dallas, were false.
