Emmitt Smith “Very Impressed” By DeMarco Murray

Emmitt Smith is impressed with rookie running back DeMarco Murray, so much so in fact, that he believes that Felix Jones may be out of a starting job by the time he returns from a high ankle sprain.

Smith was on 1310 The Ticket this morning, where he lauded the man who, in his breakout game three weeks ago, broke his franchise record for rushing yards in a single game.

"I'm very impressed with him right now,'' Smith said, via the Dallas Morning News. "I feel Felix Jones' job is slipping away.

"DeMarco Murray is showing us he has not only the mental toughness, but the physical toughness and the big play ability to make things happen.

"If you give this guy five inches of daylight, it may turn into a highlight reel. He can pick and choose, gets behind his shoulder pads and he's finishing runs. That's what you want to see from a running back. When it comes to the tackle, he's going to lower his shoulder and put everything he has into that tackler.''
