Eli Manning Glad to See Ware Leave NFC East

Manning has been sacked by DeMarcus Ware 13.5 times

As it turns out, when the Dallas Cowboys made the tough decision to part ways with all-time franchise sack leader DeMarcus Ware, both of the Manning brothers benefitted.

Peyton got a teammate who, if he can bounce back from the worst and most injury-plagued career of his season in 2013, will immediately upgrade the Broncos’ defense.  Eli was just glad to see Ware leave the NFC East where, as a member of the Cowboys, he made a habit of terrorizing the Giants’ signal caller twice a year.

"Eli told me he was excited about DeMarcus leaving his division; he can no longer hit him,” said Peyton this week, per FOXSports.com. “And I'm glad he's on my team.”

To be sure, Ware quite enjoyed facing the younger Manning. His 13.5 sacks of Eli are his most on any quarterback and, as you may remember, Ware intercepted Manning’s first pass of the 2013 season--setting a tone of frustration for the Giants that would last all year.
