Durant Hurting, Hitchens Prepping to Start

Anthony Hitchens could make his first career start against the Titans on Sunday

With weakside linebacker and defensive captain Justin Durant likely out of Sunday’s matchup with the Titans in Tennessee with a groin injury, fourth round selection Anthony Hitchens is set to make his first NFL start.

Just glad to be in this opportunity right now,” Hitchens told the team’s official website. “It’s my job to get ready, and I think so far I did a pretty good job of it.”

Hitchens, who had one tackle in his NFL debut last week, has been rotating between the weakside and the middle since he arrived in Dallas. According to the Iowa product, the fact that he will very likely start on Sunday afternoon hasn’t changed his approach to practice this week.

“Definitely. It’s fun to be out there with the ones and being out there competing with the best athletes in the world every day,” Hitchens said. “It’s definitely going to be a good experience and I’m looking forward to it.”
