A DeSoto boy who went missing Sunday afternoon has been found deceased in a storm drain.

Damien Blade, 14, was last seen at about 4 p.m. with his two dogs. When one of his dogs returned home wet and extremely muddy, his family called police.

Officers searched throughout the night, but were unable to find the teenager.

Blade was known to like to explore area culverts and storm drains. On Monday morning, with the assistance of a rescue team and a K-9 unit, the boy and his dog were found deceased inside a strom drain near the 800 block of Terrace Drive.

Police said it is believed that Blade drowned, but his official cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner.

The investigation into his death is ongoing.
