The North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) located in Plano maintains and operates toll roads, bridges and tunnels in the North Texas area.
Now that the North Texas Tollway Authority has settled with its top toll violator, a new name has risen to the top of the list.
In July, the NTTA announced Amber Young was No. 1 on its list of the Top 100 toll violators with more than 8,500 toll transactions amounting to an outstanding balance of nearly $183,000.
Melissa S. Martinez of Sachse now leads the NTTA Top 100 toll violators list with a total of 7,355 toll transactions worth $150,866.79.
Martinez shot to the top of the list and wasn't even in the original top five in July.
The man who was at No. 2 and the woman who was at No. 4 are no longer on the list, which may prove that publicizing the worst offenders works, at least for a few people.
Dawn Henry, of Frisco, was third on the list in July. She is now second and Garland resident Tarmeka Fleming, who was fourth in July, is third on November's list. New in the Top 5 are Tyrone Hammond of Plumerville, Ark., and Robert Anderson of Dallas.
Those Top 5 offenders represent nearly $663,000 in fines and fees.
