Major sports games in Arlington this weekend are creating traffic jams throughout the morning and afternoon. The Texas Rangers played Tampa Bay in the playoffs Saturday, while the Arkansas Razorbacks battled it out on the gridiron against Texas A&M Aggies.

Both college football teams tailgated outside Cowboys Stadium hours before kickoff. Those who arrived early got the best spots to pitch their tents, while others sat in the gridlock on the streets surrounding them.

"This is so much fun. We love it every year. We come out every year," Tara Blankenship, an Arkansas fan from Plano, said. "We got here about 9 a.m. Traffic was great. We got here in about no time. Got a great spot. It was wonderful."

Rangers fans were lined up outside the Majestic Grand Slam Gift Shop at the ballpark before it even opened. Fans got to the store early so they could shop for memorabilia before heading to the game.

Casey Jordan, a Rangers fan from Arlington, said he was "pretty excited. Had a hard time sleeping last night."

For people heading to the games, Arlington police advise them to be patient and follow the directions of officials directing traffic.
