    Dallas Area Rapid Transit commemorated the 60th anniversary of Rosa Parks' decision to keep her seat on a Montgomery, Ala. city bus on Monday, with the installation of two plaques at DART's Rosa Parks Plaza in Downtown Dallas. (Published Monday, Nov. 30, 2015)

    DART officials held a ceremony honoring the anniversary of a civil rights icon’s stand against discrimination Monday morning.

    Tuesday marks 60 years since Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat and move to the back on a bus in Montgomery, Alabama.

    Students from Barack Obama Leadership Academy and Irma Rangel Young Women’s Leadership School sang during the ceremony.

    On Tuesday, all dart buses will have placard in the first seat honoring Parks.

    Two new plaques will also be placed at Rosa Parks Plaza in Downtown Dallas.
