Hawaiian Falls in The Colony finds a unique way to cool off their wave pool in triple-digit heat. (Published Thursday, Aug 4, 2011)

The high for the last 12 days or so has been in the triple-digits and there's no real sign of relief. If you're looking for a way too cool off quickly, how does an ice bath sound?

The Hawaiian Falls location in The Colony will dump a ton of crushed ice into their Breaker Bay wave pool at 2 p.m. Wednesday, making the hundreds of kids already screaming in the pool scream even louder.  Or maybe there will be one large collective, 'Aaaaah.'

We'll have to wait and see.  Editors note: It was not quiet. See for yourself in the video above.

The parks are no stranger to unique promotions.  They also host the annual Wags and Waves event where guests are invited to bring their pooch(es) to the water park for a fun day in the pools.

Hawaiian Falls has three other parks in DFW, all with warmer water, in Mansfield, Garland and Roanoke.
