Spicing Up Soul Food in Fort Worth

Chicken and Waffles may not sound like they go together, but a husband and wife are putting their own spin on the popular Soul Food dish in Fort Worth.
AJ's Chicken & Waffles is at 6513 Brentwood Stair Road, near Interstate 30 and East Loop 820 in East Fort Worth.
In addition to fried chicken and of course waffles and syrup, you can choose sides named after the relatives of restaurant owners Antonio Johnson and Shereese Slate Johnson.
They include Tereee's greens, Judy's cream corn, Vesta's yams and LaDonna's smothered potatoes. Here's another look at the menu. One positive for penny-pinchers, most of the dishes are under 10 bucks!
