Super Bowl Host Committee Has Super Surplus

Millions to go to area non-profits

Super Bowl XLV in Arlington apparently brought in a super surplus for the host committee.

Host committee officials expected to see a surplus of more than $7 million, the largest ever from a Super Bowl.

The committee voted Wednesday to put aside $2 million for a future Super Bowl host bid.

The group is expected to bid on Super Bowl L in 2016.

The rest of the money will be distributed to non-profit groups including area food banks.
