One of boxing's brightest stars showed Olympic fans how to jab

Fans at Olympic Day got a treat when rising boxing star Errol Spence, Jr. of DeSoto showed up to give free boxing lessons.

Word traveled fast at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center and boxing enthusiasts flocked to see Spence Jr., take pictures and get his autograph.

The boxer emphasized the jab and protecting one's face as he briefly gave tips to dozens of fans.

The Dallas Sports Commission set up a punching bag for new fighters to test their skills.

Spence Jr. competed in the 2012 London Olympics and is now on the verge of earning a world title fight in the welterweight division, boxing's most popular division.

He'll fight Leonard Bundu on August 21 on NBC.
