Sidekicks Returning to North Texas, Tatu Included

Tatu, Sidekicks call press conference for May 1

After an eight year absence, Dallas' indoor soccer club, the Sidekicks, are returning to North Texas.

Prior to suspending operations in 2004, the Sidekicks made Reunion Arena in downtown Dallas their home. With the arena no longer in existence, the indoor soccer team needs more than just a field to play.

While they haven't revealed many details about their future, they have called a May 1 press conference at the Allen Event Center.

So, there you go.  A venue with a field and a roof that already boasts itself as the home of two area sports franchises (the Allen Wranglers and the Allen Americans).

What we do know is that on May 1, Sidekicks officials will bring together old faces, like a likely-shirted Tatu and coaching great Gordon Jago, with a few new ones, to announce the resurrection of the former MISL team.

To date, the team has announced no further information ... so you'll have to wait until that news conference for further details.

Stay tuned. Meanwhile, follow them online @GoSidekicks and on Facebook.
